Libby Snowden – Assistant Trainer

Libby grew up on a sheep farm, her grandfather trained a few trotters next door.

From the age of seven Libby spent most of her spare time at Neale Louis, Strathallan Stud, the home of Whiskey Road. Libby was very lucky getting to ride different ponies and then horses. Libby attended pony club, did cattle work and got to learn from such talented horse people learning about racehorses and breakers.

Libby left school and worked at Strathallan Stud, before setting off on an educational round of stables, Libby spent some time at Rosehill before deciding it was time to return home and set up her own racing stables. In 1984 at the age of 22 Libby had her training licenses and had set up her stables at the Braidwood racecourse. Libby had great success with her  team of horses, and achieved a city win in 1986, with Lady Lindlum.

Libby moved back to Canberra in 2000 and began working for Keith in 2003. Libby thoroughly enjoys being a member of his team, she loves the horses, the work and the people that she meets through the racing industry. Success and winners are the icing on the cake, though they make it all possible. Libby finds her career rewarding and exciting, and plays a very big role at Keith Dryden Racing.
